Varian Ironwolf is the first mate aboard the Skyscraper as well as Captain Montague’s personal advisor. Varian is the only person on the ship that knows Montague’s true past, though he respects the captain enough to not say anything. He looks at Montague as his own son, and often treats him in that manner. Varian is a wise man, knowing that often times it is better to listen than to act.
