So, awhile back I wrote a post about lessons from Cridder. I haven’t written anything else from that because that game ended up not continuing, so there were never any sessions to play out things more.
However, there is good news. One of my friends is now running a game set in the Humblewood setting. If you want more info on the setting, check it out here: Humblewood Kickstarter Page. You can also purchase it here: Buy Humblewood. It’s a really great setting and my friend did a great job DMing. It’s her first campaign as DM. She’s run a couple of one-shots too. She’s great and I love that she is doing this.
So my character is Zuyu, a Vulpin Rogue with quite a bit of…shall we say…emotional baggage and trust issues. I don’t have a whole lot of lessons to be gleaned compared to the first session with Cridder, but I do have an interesting character development to deal with already. Zuyu’s main motivator to keep on fighting and pushing on is that he fears death. Well, in the first combat of the first game, I made a tactical error and put Zuyu in a position where he ended up with 2 failed death saving throws. First game with the guy who deeply fears death and he almost dies. So already I have to consider what his mindset is going to be and how he plans on avoiding that fate in the future. We’ll see how it goes.
This game is played once a month, so I won’t have any more updates on Zuyu for a few more weeks. I hope to enlighten you all later, though. Thanks for stopping by!
